The TOEIC photo requirements
30 mm wide by 40 mm tall, taken within the last six months, upper body, facing forward, no hat. Online applications upload a file instead of a print, in which case the file format and file size limits matter as much as the dimensions.
It is used for identity checks on test day
Your photo is printed on the admission ticket and checked by the proctor. A masked, heavily filtered or obscured photo can get you turned away, so use a bright, sharp image that looks like you.
Do not reuse an old photo
The six-month rule exists so the photo matches your current appearance. Re-shooting each time costs nothing but a convenience-store print if you use this page.
Frequently asked questions
Does the photo have to be in colour?
Yes — it is used for identity verification, so a sharp colour photo is expected. Black-and-white or heavily filtered images are not suitable.
What size should the uploaded file be?
Online applications specify a pixel size and a file size limit of a few hundred kilobytes. Check the figures on the application screen, then use the digital-resize page to hit them exactly.
Glasses or a mask?
Glasses are fine if there is no glare. A mask is not allowed, because your face has to be visible. Hats are not allowed either.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser; you upload the exported file to the application site yourself.
